    BASCHURCH ARTHUR’S RESTING PLACE

A 9th Century poem names the burial site of the Dark Age King of Powys as the ‘Churches of Bassa’, relating that many great leaders were buried there. As a king of Powys, this is the most likely last resting place of King Arthur. Although the exact location is not given, the village of Baschurch, about 15 miles from Wroxeter, is the most feasible location for the ‘Churches of Bassa’.
